Overview: One of Excelsior’s customers, through SeedPrint, prints many seed packets and wanted to look into the possibility of expanding their product line.
Challenge: Their retailers mentioned they felt there was a general lack of knowledge about the gardening industry. They wanted to better educate new gardeners and give them encouragement to continue gardening.
Solution: Excelsior contracted Storey Publishing to create branded gardening guides to fit in the display with the seed packets. They created six different gardening booklets: Starting an Organic Garden, Gardening 101, Growing in Containers, Small Space Big Bounty, The Joy of Flower Gardens, and Starting Seeds Indoors.
Results: The collaboration allowed the seed company to bring a new product to the market in order to educate their customers on gardening, with the hopes of increasing sales for their seeds.
“Storey was very pleased to work with Excelsior on this project. As a gardening publisher, we enjoyed the challenge of creating focused gardening guides that will work hand-in-hand with the seed company’s goal to help gardeners learn how to get the most from their gardens. The seed-packet sized booklets are chock full of great information and illustrations in a simple and straightforward way. Putting seed growers, publishers, and printers together was natural fit that benefits everyone.”
